The wait is over. South Africa’s biggest construction event, the 18th Annual South African Construction Awards 2025, is here. As the country's most prestigious industry accolade, these awards celebrate the projects, leaders, and innovations shaping South Africa’s rapidly evolving built environment with a focus on sustainability and operational excellence.

This  award is aimed at firms that work as main contractors. The projects and construction work your firm has been involved with in the last 12 months (June 2024-June 2025) demonstrates outstanding features and innovative solutions to difficult problems. This award recognising firms that demonstrate outstanding performance, efficiency, and excellence in delivering projects and contributing towards improving construction industry standards.

- Career Achievements: Notable career milestones, achievements, and progression in the construction industry, including overcoming challenges and breaking down barriers.

- Innovation and Excellence: Demonstrated innovation, excellence, and commitment to quality in construction projects or industry initiatives.

BEST SME's FUNDING COMPANY OF THE YEAR

This award is for funders which offers fast, flexible term funding to companies up to R5 million. The funding must help contractors with Purchase Orders with working capital, provide services, staff, and growth, and funds processed within 24 hours after the application has been approved by the funder.

Entrants must provide strong, evidence-based examples of how these criteria have been met, clearly explaining the context, methods, and results of their projects to impress judges.

Submissions should clearly illustrate the developer’s ambition, adaptability in the face of challenges, and delivery of exceptional results. Supporting materials, including high-quality images and videos, are strongly encouraged to provide compelling evidence of impact and achievement.

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS EXCELLENCE AWARD 

This prestigious award recognise the contribution that the built environment has on people's lives. This category will assess construction projects that have had a social, economic and environmental impact in South Africa. It is for a project that can demonstrate it has had a measurably positive effect on end users, a local community or a targeted group. The judges are looking for schemes that inspire others and demonstrate how construction can bring about positive change by creating healthier, safer and more resilient communities. Entrants need to demonstrate they have engaged with the local community from an early stage in the project.

Judges look for strong leadership that inspires change, strategic vision, and a commitment to the wider industry, including the supply chain and community.

Lifetime achievement award criteria in construction focus on a long and distinguished career of over 20-30 years, demonstrating significant and sustained contributions to the industry, leadership, innovation, mentorship, and an impeccable track record of integrity and professionalism. Awards often require nomination and are assessed based on the candidate's vision, influence, professional achievements, and positive impact on colleagues, companies, and the industry as a whole.
